8 years. 20 years. Life in prison. If you want real justice, just let the guy loose on the streets of, say, Detroit, or East LA, and let everyone there know you're turning him loose. You'll see swift and appropriate punishment at its finest. It's not that complicated, really.

My daughter was on a national championship cheerleading squad when she was younger. They were athletic, and did stunts that made me glad my insurance was paid up. These "cheerleaders" are nothing more than glorified eye-candy.

I went to Louisiana on a disaster relief trip after Katrina, but I'm still really torn. Part of me is empathetic toward those who suffered such a loss. It's devastating. Their lives got turned upside down.
